Problem Diagnosis
Because of the pandemic, more people have expressed interest in gaining more education, having more free time from work from home and want to spend their leisure time with less screen time. Due to all of the aforementioned, more people have subscribed to Audible to listen to audiobooks but the app/service is not perfect for a lot of it's userbase.

How Might We improve Audible to increase user retention & decrease user frustration?
Solution
Bookshelf is a reimagining of Audible. It provides a real onboarding experience that explains specific features & looks to improve it's search architecture by simplifying the process.

A new onboarding experience that allows new users to know what they are getting into, what features that they can expect, and what kind of audiobook selection they had.

Guidelines

Clear guidelines on what is being said, so that new users know what to expect when subscribing for the 1st time.

Visual Examples

A distinct visual showcasing a example just so new users would be able to associate with, when explaining a new featureset. Humans are visual creatures.

Searching Made Easy

Searching for audiobooks originally was confusing and that was due to Audible's information architecture, so we made it easy and simple - taking cues from Spotify & Netflix

1 Single Source of Truth

Searching for Audiobooks now has a dedicated section as it's own source of truth instead of having multiple ways from various subpages. One page to search them all!

Card Categories

Pick a card, any card! Card categories give a easy and distinct visual signifiers for users that can use to find particular genres of their favorite books. Want to listen to Michelle Obama's book? Go to the Biographies card! Need a nice scare? Browse the Horror section!
